Technogym appointed exclusive supplier of fitness equipment for 2008

Technogym, the world's leading fitness appliances producer, has been signed up as the exclusive supplier of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) said on Thursday.
According to their deal, the Italy-based multinational will provide the Beijing Games around 1,000 machines including cardio and strength equipment, 10 training facilities as well as the main facility inside the Olympic Village, and fitness center for the 20,000-plus accredited journalists.
In addition, Technogym will also provide fitness coaches to guide the training of the athletes.
"It is our firm belief that through the support from Technogym, athletes from all over the world will take part in the Beijing Games in very good condition," Liu Jun, BOCOG's deputy marketing director, told a press conference.
Beijing 2008 become Technogym's fourth participation in the Olympic Games, after Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Turin 2006.
"This represents a victory for the whole company, a result which I'd like to share with all of our staff," Nerio Alessandri, chairman and founder of Technogym, said in a statement.
