The Executive Board of Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) held its 71st session on Thursday, discussing catering service matters for the 2008 Olympic Games.

The meeting heard a report on the operational mode of Olympic catering service and the progress of the related work. During the 2008 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, seven groups of clients need different catering service, which will last for 60 days. People involved in the large-scale, lasting and high-standard jobs face wide-ranging needs.
The catering service for the Games will reflect the general goal of staging a high-level Olympics with distinguishing features, with the priority being the food safety. Efforts will be made to meet the demands of various service targets and provide athletes and others with quality service.
With the ultimate goal to guarantee the safety, quality and efficiency of the catering service, the task will be undertaken by the enterprise and led by the government. Meanwhile, cooperation with experienced international companies in the area will be enhanced.
The meeting was chaired by BOCOG President Liu Qi, who is also member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of Beijing Municipal CPC Committee.
Present at the meeting was also Chen Zhili, state councilor and BOCOG. first vice president.
