Fury has to wait for new license

Britain's troubled former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury probably has to wait until at least October to regain his license, promoter Frank Warren said on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Fury, who has not fought since beating Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles in November 2015, has to wait until a UK anti-doping inquiry is concluded.

Fury, along with his cousin and fellow heavyweight Hughie Fury, tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone in 2015.

Aberdeen finally wins at Rangers

Aberdeen claimed its first victory at Ibrox in more than a quarter-century when it sealed second place in the Scottish Premiership with a 2-1 victory over Rangers on Wednesday.

Graeme Shinnie put the Dons in front in the ninth minute before Ryan Christie doubled the lead five minutes after the break.

Substitute Martyn Waghorn pulled one back for the Glasgow side, but Aberdeen, which had substitute Jayden Stockley sent off, hung on to end a run of 41 matches without a win at Ibrox that stretched back to September 1991.

Kuyt retires after Feyenoord title

Former Dutch international Dirk Kuyt announced his retirement on Wednesday, three days after his hat-trick lifted Feyenoord to its first Eredivisie title in 18 years.

Kuyt, 36, scored all three goals on Sunday as Rotterdam-based Feyenoord beat Heracles 3-1 to clinch the Dutch title after finishing one point clear of Ajax.

The ex-Liverpool striker is expected to stay on at Feyenoord in a technical capacity after calling time on his 19-year playing career.

Lewandowski eyes goal mark

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski aims to better his record of 30 league goals in a season and beat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Bundesliga's scoring title on Saturday.

Lewandowski's two-goal haul in Bayern's thrilling 5-4 win over RB Leipzig last Saturday left him one ahead of Borussia Dortmund's Aubameyang with one march remaining.

This season's haul equals Lewandowski's personal best, set last term when he won the Golden Cannon trophy - awarded to the Bundesliga's top scorer - for the second time. His first title came in 2013-14 when he scored 20 goals for Dortmund.

Ice-dance champs join touring show

Olympic ice-dancing champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White have a new gig on solid footing.

They will co-star with Cheryl Burke from the US television series Dancing With the Stars in a 30-city live dance tour called "Love on the Floor".

The four-act show tells the story of a relationship, with each star performing a different aspect of the journey: romance, passion, hurt and power. Davis and White will be spotlighted in individual dances as well as performing together.

They starred in the show during a tour of Japan last year. It will tour Japan again starting next month. The US tour begins Oct 17 in Palm Desert, California.
