Ministry to announce details of investment expo

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce will hold a media briefing in Beijing to announce details of the 10th Central China Investment and Trade Exposition. The three-day expo will open in Hefei, Anhui province, on May 17. The event has been organized by a number of central government agencies and six provinces in Central China.

500 deals to be signed at Hunan-Hong Kong trade fair

The 2017 Hunan-Hong Kong Investment and Trade Promotion Week will open in Hong Kong, Macao and the Pearl River Delta region from Tuesday. About 500 cooperation deals will be signed during the fair, with total investment hitting 2 trillion yuan ($291 billion), according to the event's organizers. First held in 1988, the annual fair has become an important trade and exchange platform.

First-quarter employment data due on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will release in Beijing the employment numbers for the first quarter. This year, China aims to create more than 11 million jobs, 1 million more than last year's target, according to the 2017 Government Work Report.

Badminton championships attract 300 players

The Badminton Asia Championships will be held in Wuhan, Hubei province, from Tuesday to Sunday. More than 300 players from 20 countries will compete in the event. The tournament started in 1962 and has been held annually since 1991. Badminton Asia is the main organizer.
