Serb president set for state visit as relations deepen
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will pay a state visit to China from Tuesday to Saturday at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. Cooperation between China and Serbia has deepened since the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2009.
Investment conference attracts top firms
An investment conference will be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Tuesday, attracting global companies. The event will lay the foundations for the upcoming Global Fortune Forum 2017 in December. Local authorities aim to enhance the city's standing as an international shipping hub and a science and technology innovation center. Meanwhile another three-day investment and trade fair will be held in the province's Zhongshan city from Tuesday.
Key World Cup qualifier for China as they play Iran
The Chinese soccer team will take on Iran for a berth in the 2018 World Cup on Tuesday in Teheran. Their 1-0 win over South Korea last week boosted China's qualification hopes from Group A. Iran leads the group with 11 points from five matches, ahead of South Korea on 10.
Gas prices will be adjusted to reflect fluctuations
Retail gasoline prices are expected to be adjusted on Tuesday, in line with national fuel price mechanisms and global fluctuations. Industry insiders say the price will fall by about 260 yuan ($38) per metric ton.
