Duty-related crimes to be targeted
China will make more efforts to supervise and prevent duty-related crimes on 69 poverty alleviation projects, according to a circular on Tuesday. "The projects cover villages that need to be relocated to overcome poverty," said the circular, issued by three central government departments including the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

Child care services at work piloted
Shanghai has launched pilot child care services in a number of workplaces to encourage more families to have a second child, local authorities said on Tuesday. The Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions established 12 pilot child care centers in workplaces before International Women's Day, March 8, to help working women take care of their children.

Warships return from high-sea drill
A fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy returned on Tuesday to a port in Sanya city, Hainan province, after the completion of a high-sea training drill. The fleet, which is comprised of missile destroyers Changsha and Haikou as well as supply ship Luomahu, had sailed more than 8,000 nautical miles since Feb 10.

Bird flu patient discharged
A 37-year-old female patient who contracted the H7N9 avian flu virus has recovered and was discharged on Monday, according to the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The woman spent 43 days at the hospital after testing positive for the virus on Jan 22, hospital authorities said.
