迷你刺猬掀最新宠物潮
Mini hedgehogs have become Britain's latest pet craze, the Daily Mail of London reported. It's thought there are now more than 10,000 of them being kept as pets in the UK. They rarely grow longer than 28 cm and weigh around 0.45 kg. Unlike cats and dogs, they do not trigger allergies, nor do they give off the strong odor of hamsters or rats. Their normal lifespan is between 3 and 8 years. But animal charities are concerned people will buy them on impulse then abandon them. (See photo)
据英国《每日邮报》报道，迷你刺猬在英国掀起一股最新宠物潮。据估计目前英国有超过1万只迷你刺猬被当作宠物来养。它们一般不超过28厘米，重约0.45公斤。它们不会像猫狗一样引起过敏，也不会散发仓鼠或老鼠身上的浓重气味。其寿命一般为3到8年。但动物慈善团体担心，民众只是一时兴起养迷你刺猬，随后会将之遗弃。(见图)
