Topic: Playing with lives?

Toy industry insiders recently revealed to the press that manufacturers use safe paints for products for export and poor quality materials for those made for the domestic market.

Are our children less important than a wad of dollars? How can product safety supervisors and toy manufacturers ignore the lives of their countrymen? I don't know how soon the authorities will seriously get down to solving the safety problems facing food products.

When I was in the United States, I sometimes read reports saying that toys made in China contain excessive lead. The existence of the so-called double standard is because Chinese and foreign quality supervisors have applied different standards in evaluating product security. We can't count on the manufacturers' moral standards for good quality.

A lot of commodities sold on trains are marked on the packages as "special for train passengers". As products of the same brand, if they don't have quality differences why should they be sold through different channels? I'm afraid, just like the toys, this is just another case of double standards. I hope media reporters can investigate the case.

Topic: Naming big spenders

People who buy large amounts of prepaid cards will soon have to register their real names as part of efforts to prevent money laundering, tax evasion and bribery, according to the State Council.

I strongly support this policy. I have a relative working in a government institution who receives a lot of prepaid cards each year. It's actually bribery. Prepaid cards have provided a tool for corruption. So, the policy will to some extent help fight corruption. - "STUPID_XIAO1" ON SINA; FOLLOWERS: 31

Although many have been talking about the policy, some big shopping malls still aren't following the rule. Receipts for prepaid cards have often been disguised as office supplies, leaving no clue for supervisors to keep track of.

A 5,000-yuan prepaid card can surely be divided into five 1,000-yuan cards, which under the rules don't need real names. This loophole will affect the effectiveness of the policy. - "CAOSHILEI1565" ON SINA; FOLLOWERS: 1

In 2001, the government issued an order completely banning the distribution of prepaid cards. Compared to that policy, the real-name policy is apparently a looser one. How can we expect that a looser policy can achieve a goal that a complete ban cannot? - "MAJIHUA" ON SINA; FOLLOWERS: 6,194

Topic: Claims of nepotism

An insider disclosed online that in the past nine years more than 60 employees recruited by Wenzhou Expressway Administrative Office in Zhejiang province were related to department heads.

No one is ever allowed to sacrifice the interests of the country and society and insult the authority of the law. Stricter punishment should be imposed so that personal relationships make way for justice.

I came upon an interesting idea: we should learn from the practice in South Korea. Government officials should be dismissed if they give their children priority to work in their offices. If so, will a normal piece of A4 paper be large enough to accommodate those on the sacked list?

Actually the same thing happens in some other places in the country. It's just that few have been exposed. Without a strong supervision system, the same thing will keep happening. We expect a stricter rule to be worked out soon to curb the practice.
