Butterfly valley

The Seven-Color Butterfly Park has prepared many spring and summer activities for citizens in the capital, including a scientific exhibition about butterflies, a "butterfly valley" where visitors can see butterflies up close, even with them resting on their shoulders, and activities designed for children to make pictures using butterfly wings.

Mahjong workshop

The workshop put on by the Culture Yard will teach the history and symbolism behind mahjong. Participants can master the rules of playing and visit a local playhouse to play as the locals do.

Bicycle game

The First Beijing Bicycle City Quest, a dynamic live game promoting a cool healthy lifestyle is just around the corner. Matteo Trenti, the event planner, thinks "healthy" is not boring but should be full of fun.

We need teams of two to five people with bicycles. Competitors need to bring a map, a camera and phones. The winner will receive money and respect.

Yoga club in a park

The yoga club meets in Ditan Park and welcomes people of all levels, but preferably with at least a basic knowledge of yoga. Enter through the North gate of the park and meet on the small field to your right.

Everyone should bring their own mat and a towel to place under the mat as you will be on the grass.

Cooking workshop

The Hutong offers cooking classes in cuisines from China and beyond.

The Chinese cuisine classes include Beijing home style, Cantonese, chili paste and others.

Also experience how to prepare and create delectable dishes from southern Asia and the subcontinent.

Western meal etiquette

Louis Dussault, LLB, the author of Protocol, an Instrument of Communication, will give a workshop on the rules of Western etiquette.

This workshop is the short version of a three-hour seminar, with animation, videos, and case studies, which will cover nine guidelines to follow for a successful luncheon with Western guests, such as where to sit and how to choose wine.
