The group sticks to the mountainous roads outside of Beijing, where there is little traffic and lots of scenery. They ride all year around, even during Beijing's harsh winter when temperature drop below zero. "That's probably the greatest thing about our group: you get out of Beijing and see things that you'd never otherwise experience. There are so many scenic areas around the city, so much to see," he said. Although the group is predominantly made up of expats, Lanhove hopes to expand the group in the near future to include more locals. "We're always looking to get more Chinese people involved and make it bigger. We just have to get people to come and understand what we do," he said. "We're not an elite expat group, we're much bigger than that." Lanhove's latest personal project is working with the Mongolian national team and is providing opportunities for these riders to have professional careers in Europe. "Since 2008 we have partnered up with the Mongolian National Cycling Federation and have been conducting expeditions in Mongolia," he said. "Mongolia is a fantastic place to ride, especially now when the colors are changing," he said.
