Graduating from Beijing Film Academy in 1998, Li Hong directed her debut
feature Fly Together With You at just twenty-four years of age. The film was
awarded Best Debut Movie in the 6th Annual Beijing Student Film Festival, Best
Director at the 6th Annual Indian International Children's Film Festival, and
Best Children's Movie Silver Kite Award at the Argentine International
Children's Film Festival. In 2001, her feature-film Black and White was awarded
the Judges Choice Award at France's 16th Hans International Television Film
Festival. Her latest feature, the horror film Curse, received praise at the 2005
Tokyo International Film Festival, with critics claiming it heralded a new phase
in the evolution of the genre.

Li Hong's YNFP film is based on a story of friendship between an American
soldier and a Chinese boy during the Second World War.
