Zhouzhuang embraces tourist boom during Labor Day holiday

Zhouzhuang, an iconic water town in East China's Jiangsu province, received 180,000 visitors during the Labor Day Holiday from May 1 to 4, representing a growth of 7.8 percent year-on-year.
Zhouzhuang is noted for its profound history, enchanting waterway views and well-preserved old buildings.
The live-action show Zhouzhuang in Four Seasons, a visual and musical extravaganza that promises to allow visitors to get to know Zhouzhuang in just one night, was staged in the water town nine times over the holiday.
A total of 154 water tours were made over the period, enabling visitors to sample the charm of the water town by boats.
Besides, night water tour in Zhouzhuang also turned to be a hit, as official data shows that 1,210 water tours were made at night amid the holiday.
Zhouzhuang rolled out a night tour service earlier this year.
The cruise route passes by numerous attractions including Fu'an Bridge, Zhang House, Twins Bridge, Zhouzhuang Ancient Opera Stage, Quangong Bridge and Zhouzhuang Museum.
The service runs from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the off-season and extends by one more hour for peak season.
The ticket price is set at 180 yuan($26.7) per trip, which uses a traditional Chinese boat that can carry up to six persons.
