Zhouzhuang Museum

Zhouzhuang Museum, located on Hougang Street, Zhouzhuang houses a fascinating collection of local utensils, farm tools and pottery unearthed in the water town.

The museum shows tourists the water town's long history and splendid cultures and brings back old memories. After a long renovation period, the museum will reopen soon. A selection of high-tech exhibits will enhance the visitor experience.

Covering an area of 1,000 square meters, Zhouzhuang Museum was once the residence of a Zhu family in the early years of the Republic of China. It was later used by Zhouzhuang town government after 1949. After renovations in the mid-1990s, it became a museum in 1998.
