A group of delegates from the Pu'er government visited Shanghai from Nov 9-12. The group was led by the city's Party chief, Wei Xing.
During the visit, delegates visited Baosteel, China's most advanced State-owned steelmaker, where they expressed their hope of seeking further cooperation and communication with Shanghai.
Shanghai Party chief Han Zheng welcomed the group from Pu'er on Nov 9 and stressed that Shanghai would strengthen the work of supporting Pu'er's development and help its people improve its economy.
Wei Xing thanked Shanghai for its longtime support and noted its contribution in helping promote Pu'er's economic development. He said that with the support from Shanghai, the Pu'er government will focus on infrastructure, industrial development, social stability and people's livelihood to achieve greater development.
The group also visited economic zones in Shanghai, including the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, to seek areas of further cooperation. Inviting investments is seen as the key strategy of development its economy.
