Representatives of the Pu'er Journalists Association visited the Zhenyuan county in Pu'er on Oct 25 to investigate the development of its economy.
Economic statistics show that Zhenyuan county ranks first among all of Pu'er's counties, thanks to increased efforts by authorities to promote rural economic development and introduce preferential policies. In 2014, Zhenyuan county realized a total output value of 3.75 billion yuan ($590 million).
During the visit, journalists made investigations and conducted reports on the county's characteristic industrial development, infrastructure construction, ecological construction and urban-rural development.
In the opening ceremony of the journalism activity, journalists were divided into 14 groups and invited to draw lots to choose a reporting subject. At the end of the reporting activity, awards will be given to reports deemed to be outstanding.
