The Yunnan Cultural Industry Expo, which kicked off on Aug 7, attracted more than 262,200 visitors by the third day, with transactions worth 14.42 million yuan ($2.25 million), according to official statistics.
Black pottery highlights expo
Among all the exhibits, hundreds of tea sets, soup pots, vases and stationery made of black pottery from Diqing Zang autonomous prefecture stood out for their long history and high quality.
"Our companied sold around 100,000 yuan of in the past two day, and many black pottery products sold out at the fair," said the manager of Shangri-La Nixi Black Pottery Development Co.
Cucurbit flute sells well at expo
At the exhibition hall of Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture, visitors crowded to participate in the cucurbit flute performance for a free flute.
Gen Congguo, the nephew of cucurbit master Gen Dequan, signed orders for 1,000 flutes with other traders. "I have brought many handcrafts made of cucurbit to the expo and am looking forward to finding more partners through this platform," said Gen.
