For locals of Pu'er in Yunnan province, the market fair is more than just a place to buy conveniences, it is also a traditional custom. For locals, the market fair is a hub of the community and a place to communicate with loved ones and strangers alike.
A variety of local cuisine, such as rice, noodles and bean jelly can be found at the market fair. A portion of rice noodles with meat mince on top is another example of delicacies enjoyed by locals.
During the market fair, villagers from the city’s different counties and villages gather in the fair and bring their own agricultural produce to sell.
