Pu'er Industrial Park signed a cooperation agreement with Nestle on December 12.According to the agreement, Nestle will set a coffee center in Pu'er which integrate training, laboratory, warehousing in 2015.
Yang Weidong, vice-mayor of Pu’er; Shi Mingde, executive vice president of department of technology, Nestle Greater China; and officials from Pu'er Coffee Office, Pu'er Industrial Park attended the signing ceremony.
This project is Nestle’s first coffee Center in the world. It will cover 30,000 square meters, including a Nescafe coffee planting training center, a modern quality assurance laboratory and integrated processing and storage facilities.
The setup of Pu'er coffee center will provide sales channels for Pu'er coffee, and technical support for local coffee farmers. Therefore, I will promote the development of the coffee industry of Pu'er.
Pu'er is the largest coffee-producing area in Yunnan province where the current planting area reached 710,000 mu (47.333 hectares). As for coffee purchasing season 2014-2015, Nestle will purchase approximately 10,000 tons of coffee beans in Pu'er.
