The Kunming Aquatic Science Park in the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone was recently nominated as the "Kunming environmental education base". Only two workplaces in the city were awarded the title after an examination conducted by a review group formed by Kunming's environmental protection bureau, education bureau and housing and urban-rural development bureau.

The science park has been paving efforts to develop the water in a healthy way for industrial development, provide high-level technology and products and many applications of water conservation, supplies and control.

In 2014, the park has been focusing on the construction and development of the aquatic science exhibition hall. It has established a management and maintenance system, enriched the exhibition content and invited elites from all walks of life to visit as well as ask them for their advice. The exhibition hall lays a good foundation for the future development of its education base.

The title of education base gives the park a platform to play a role in advertising the idea of environmental protection and broadcasting environmental science, and make its contribution to the better environment within Kunming.
