The Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone has gathered many enterprises and projects dedicated to the high-end equipment manufacturing industry.

They are Kunming Cable Factory, Yunnan Cable Industry Co, Yunnan Tongbian Electric Apparatus Co, Yunnan People Electric Appliances Co, Kunming Duobao Cable Co, Yunnan Daze Eletrode Technology Co, the enclosed busbar of the high-voltage project of Yunnan Eaton Electrics, the photovoltaic brazing project of Kunming Sunlight Science and Technology Co, the precision CNC machine tool project of Kunming Taiding Precision Machinery, the smart grid project of Yunnan Zhuoxi Investment Co, the industrial robot project of Yunnan Johnhester Flexible Automation Equipment Co, the lighting protection equipment manufacturing project of Yitongmeier, Kunming Huahang Electric Co, Yunnan Tianwei Transformer Co, Yunnan Zhengxiao Cable Co, the machine tool project of TOS Kunming Machine Tool Co, Yunnan Tobacco Machinery Co and Kunming Klim Light Industry Machinery (Group) Joint Stock Co.

The Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone is determined to upgrade and expand its business in manufacturing intelligent power system equipment. At the same time, it has put great effort into high-end equipment manufacturing, mainly in the fields of astronautics equipment, satellite and satellite application, and intelligent manufacturing. New emerging industries, including the research of aircrafts and parts for general airplanes and helicopters, research and maintenance of aircraft equipment, the processing of fundamental components for satellite application, the development of terminal equipment, flexible automation and industrial robots, will be developed.

The development zone is working on a high-precision enhanced network project and establishing an information infrastructure and service platform compatible with the ground enhanced network of Beidou, providing a real-time enhanced locating signal service with high precision covering the whole of Yunnan province.

The zone has also established the Beidou Comprehensive Application Demonstration Base and introduced research and development enterprises for equipment, such as the Beidou vehicle navigation GPS, hand-held intelligent terminals, smartphones and emergency communication terminals.
