The Eleventh Pan-Asia International Agriculture Expo closed in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province on Sept 23, xw.kunming.cn reported.

The five-day expo attracted 511,000 visits, and witnessed deals worth 164 million yuan ($25.7 million).

“Fungus is very popular at the expo, I sold nearly 400 kilograms of fungus per day for the past five days. The only two bags left I expect to sell out by this afternoon, ” said fungus seller Mr Yang.

Nuodeng Ham, winner of “Yunnan Agriculture Gold Award”, was another popular product.

“The ham is ready to eat. The flavor is quite unique if you eat it without cooking. Many customers come back to buy more, ” said Yang Wusong, who won sold 200 bags of Nuodeng Ham at the expo.

A total of 2215 companies took part in this year’s expo, 31.8 percent more than last year. The number of booths totaled 3517, 42.8 percent more than the previous year, and the exhibition area reached 100,000 square meters, 80 percent higher than 2014.

Apart from domestic visitors, business leaders, government officials and exhibitors from 17 countries took part.

The expo is expected to lay a solid foundation for Kunming to host the China Agricultural Expo in the future.
