Urumqi Air's Boeing 737-800 successfully finished its maiden flight from Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, to Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, on July 10.

The single daily flight is scheduled to set off from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport at 10:45 am and arrive at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport at 4:10 pm, before returning to Urumqi at 5:15 pm.

The flight has a brief layover in the eastern Xinjiang city of Hami, a strategic passage along the ancient Silk Road connecting Xinjiang with inland China.
