Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) held its third public square dance competition at Weitai Business Center on Aug 11, with the winning team going on to represent the zone at a similar activity in Urumqi.
During the three-hour event, more than 270 public dance fans representing 13 teams took part. Two teams won the first prizes after fierce competition.
Hou Yuxin, the first prizewinner, showed that she and her team members put great efforts into the competition and were extremely proud of their achievement. Hou indicated that they would take part in more such activities in the future.
Wang Yang, a teacher at Xinjiang Arts Institute, said that all the participants were very professional and passionate. She also expressed her desire for the winning team to give a good performance in the upcoming public dance competition held in Urumqi.
