The final of the First Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students was held at Xinjiang Arts University in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Nov 1.
Since its initiation in September, the competition has welcomed 400 student competitors comprising of 80 teams from 12 universities. After two rounds, 16 projects have entered the final.
The organizers of the competition aim to create a chance for college students to showcase their entrepreneurship and innovation talents.
It is also a preparatory activity of the Third Silk Road Cultural Innovative Industries Expo, which will kick off on Nov 5 and close with an award ceremony on Nov 8, the last day of the expo.

The expo will be held at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Urumqi under the theme “Silk Road Center, Innovative Xinjiang”. 590 stands will be set up in nine exhibition areas, allowing over 200 enterprises to exhibit their products. Items exhibited will cover art, IT, modern media and tourism products.
