Residents in Urumqi's Economic and Technological Development Zone, in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region spontaneously staged performances at a local cultural square to celebrate the region's 60th anniversary on Sept 17.
The shows attracted nearly 2,000 locals. The ten shows won constant applause, and a fashion show by female employees from Xinjiang Bayi Iron and Steel Co impressed the audience.
Wang Jin, an audience said, "I never thought that locals can make such an amazing performance, and I am looking forward to more art shows."

This art show set records due to that number of performers and preparations.
More talent shows and performances will be heldin Urumqi to mark the anniversary, according to the local officials.
