Home to a variety of ethnic groups, the Urumqi State High-tech Industrial Zone in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has taken great steps in maintaining a harmonious environment.

The zone also promoted ethnic unity through websites exhibition boards and mobile loudspeakers. A speech contest was also held to relay stories of those people who have made a great contribution towards maintaining ethnic unity.
