Art lovers and travel fanatics got a chance to experience the beauty of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region through the lens of excellent local photographers.
A photography exhibition entitled Charming Xinjiang which has toured the globe as an artistic ambassador for Xinjiang, arrived at Karamay International Art Center, on Aug 29.
A total of 96 photographic works were on display during the one-week exhibition. Visitors were attracted to the stunning pictures which depicted a range of landscapes and cultural life in Xinjiang. The photos display flocks of sheep sprawled over the prairies, rivers which wind towards the horizon, and group of Dolan people gather for a Uyghur Muqam music festival,
As well as the beautiful and unique scenery in the region, the hospitality of local people, exciting ethnic activities and urban development are also important parts of the exhibition.
Charming Xinjiang is supported by the Urumqi Photographers Association and National Photographers Association. It is aimed to create a space showcasing Xinjiang scenery and culture to promote local tourism.
This is the fifth year that the initiative has been run, with the express purpose of bringing the beauty of Xinjiang to the rest of the world.
