The Manufacturing Industry Sub-forum, a key part of the 2016 Silk Road Economic Belt- Xinjiang Karamay Forum, began in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Aug 9.
The sub-forum was conducted under the heading “constructing the Belt and Road Initiative, upgrading the manufacturing industry”. Talks focused on developing modes of groundbreaking manufacturing, the role of government policy, and anticipating upcoming challenges.
Furthermore, those assembled discussed their expectations for various pieces of important government policy, the necessity for the manufacturing industry to upgrade, and the approach that should be taken in investment and finance.
The sub-forum was hosted by the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Grandall Law Firm. A number of senior officials from China, Iran, Pakistan and Kazakhstan gave speeches on both the currently state of affairs and their expectations for the future.
Notable speeches were given by Song Lihong, the deputy director-general of Comprehensive Department, Ministry of Commerce of China, Nurgaaliyev Rakhat, head of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan and Li Aixian, the vice-president of the China National Institute of Standardization.
The 2016 Silk Road Economic Belt- Xinjiang Karamay Forum, honored as the “Davos Forum in West China”, is being held in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from Aug 9-11. It has attracted around 500 leading figures from the governments of China, Pakistan and Kazakhstan, as well as representatives from businesses and think-tanks.
