The 31st National Speed Roller Skating Competition will be held at the Karamay Ecology Leisure Park from June 29-31.

To cater for the growing demand of the sport in the city, a national training center recently launched there. Athletes from the city took home 30 gold medals at the 13th Xinjiang Speed Roller Skating Competition.

"The competition will be of significance to Xinjiang's economic and social development," said Guo Zhongping, deputy director of the Karamay sports bureau.
