More than 20 MBA students of the Tsinghua University (TU), who currently occupy senior management roles in various companies, visited Karamay in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Nov 6. They met with local entrepreneurs and reached cooperation agreements on tourism and creative cultural industries.
The Tsinghua postgraduate delegates are all from the MBA program of the university and most of them work in companies based in Beijing, such as Microsoft, Beijing Velo Energy and Technology Company and Liuming Law Office. Representatives of some 31 Karamay enterprises and public institutions attended the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, a total of 12 cooperation projects were signed by both sides in the fields of oil equipment supply, cloud computing, tourism and film and television production.
Zuo Jianbing, group leader of the Tsinghua MBA delegation and deputy general manager of Beijing Velo Energy and Technology Company, said the visit to Karamay was "a good start for cooperation between Beijing and Karamay at a non-governmental level".
