Karamay Science and Technology Hall is a new landmark of the city.
The designer has planned many science halls around the country, most of which have become local landmarks.
He intended to build a unique science hall for Karamay and came up with several plans. However, he was not satisfied with any of them. He wandered around the city and surrounding areas and was inspired by the Yardang landform.
"It was very difficult to make the blueprint into reality," said the general engineer of Youngsun Architecture Group.
Because of the difficulty, the hall began construction very early but finished late. Now, even though the hall is in use, internal decoration is still underway.
So far, the hall has accommodated several major events such as the third Xinjiang Youth Science Festival, where visitors experienced the most up-to-date technology and equipment.
