Energy Conservation representatives gather in Karamay

The Karamay government held a meeting for representatives before they attended the 2015 China Automobile Energy Conservation International Forum on Oct 16, the Karamay Daily reported.

Qian Minghua, a vice mayor of Karamay, hosted the meeting. Xu Jianhui, also a vice mayor, gave the representatives general information about the city.

Xu noted that Karamay has been working towards becoming a comprehensive city by promoting emerging industries.

The city wants to be of high-quality in every way and utilize the most advanced municipal governance concepts. Karamay has a solid industrial foundation and a complete petroleum industrial chain. It has one national level productivity promotion center, two postdoctoral workstations, eight technology centers and eight professional institutes.

Karamay has decided to take advantage of the historical opportunity of the nations Belt and Road Initiative to build itself into a core information center. Developing the automobile industry would not only serve west China but also benefit the exportation of automobile to nearby regions including the Middle Asia, West Asia and Russia.

Over 20 automobile companies came to the meeting. Some of them gave a brief analysis on the potential of the automobile industry.

Established automobile companies including Chang'an Automobile and BYD expressed their wish to cooperate with Karamay.
