The 1st Xinjiang Petroleum and Petrochemical Trade Fair was held in Karamay in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Oct 15.

Some 104 cooperation agreements were signed during the trade fair, and 23 enterprises linked up with scientific research institutions and universities.

The fair was held at the Karamay City Exhibition Center. Petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, research institutions and organizations related to the oil industry attended the fair.

Some 759 scientific achievements and patented technologies were exhibited throughout the fair, where a science-themed seminar, drilling machinery patent press conference and patent technology project conference were held.

Zhang Hongyan, the mayor of Karamay city and Zhang Xiaolei, director of the Xinjiang Science and Technology Department attended the fair and delivered speeches.

According to Zhang Xiaolei, the petroleum and petrochemical industries are the pillar industries of Xinjiang. The trade fair constructed a communication platform to allow new technology and research to be commercialized and utilized within relative industries.
