Nearly 70 percent of European companies are performing well in business in China, according to a report on business confidence released by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Tianjin branch, on June 27.

The report says 66 percent of the interviewed companies' income in 2017 increased compared to income levels in 2016 despite strong competition, particularly in industries like medical devices, medicine and automobile manufacturing.

Although countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam are gaining more and more cooperation with Chinese enterprises, 59 percent of European companies in China still regard China as among the Top three investment destinations.

About 60 percent of member corporations of the Tianjin branch said they would increase investment and expand their business if the Tianjin market opens up to a larger extent.

The Chinese government, in recent years, has made progress in intellectual property protection and environmental protection and is offering more and more support for innovation and entrepreneurship, which encourages European companies to invest and expand.
