The Dragon Boat Festival has come to an end with Tianjin receiving a total of 1,465,000 visitors from home and abroad within three days.

According to the municipal tourism administration, over 30 activities were held during the brief vacation. Take the photo exhibition and art fair in the Five Avenues as an example: it attracted nearly 30,000 visitors.

Indoor recreations and some large commercial complexes proved popular due to the heat. The Tianjin Culture Center, which consists of the Tianjin Museum, art gallery, library, theater and some other venues, was a reasonable choice. Happy Valley in Overseas China Town, located in Dongli district, also earned a daily reception of 18,000 visitors during the festival.

The Haihe River, after rounds of transformation and upgrading, is now a city landmark. By freely drifting down the river visitors can just relax and enjoy the beauty of nighttime Tianjin. There is even an ancient culture street by the river, selling Tianjin-flavored Zongzi, sugar paintings, dough modelings, and tea soup.

The heat wave also brought visitors to Tianjin Binhai, which has become a famous summer resort.
