The 2nd WIC will take place in Tianjin in May. The eco-city management committee implements the instructions of the party committee and government of Tianjin and works under the guidance of the WIC Organizing Committee to host the World Intelligent Drones Contest in Tianjin Eco-city.
Eco-city has built a venue for the contest, its first for technology competition. The venue is located in Building No.5 of the Hongbin Start-up Park, with an area of 3,900 square meters on two floors. It is made up of modules and can be extended for different scenarios in future contests.
The lanes are made of modules of diverse materials. With different lighting systems, the limited space has complicated scenarios, elevations, slopes and multi-angle curves. These designs add difficulty to the contest, and bring different experiences and perceptions for the operators and spectators, making the contest professional and more true to life.
The contest is an invitational competition. Top drone operators from China, the US, the UK Australia, France, Austria, Singapore and Thailand will participate. Among the Chinese participants will be Li Kunhuang and Chen Songwen, who represented China at the World Drone Prix in Dubai. The international contestants will include Duncan, a DRL operator, Gary Kent from X-Blade, Walter Kirsch and Bastian Hackl from TBS.
