The opening of the 8th Nankai Reading Festival was held at the Nankai University Jinnan campus library on April 23, World Reading Day.

One of the highlights at this year's reading festival was a donation ceremony. A Beijing-based cultural enterprise -- Chongxue Cultural Development -- donated over 240 copies of a book written in nine languages -- Chinese, English, Russian, Japanese, French, German, Korea and Thai to Nankai University.

The 8th Nankai University Reading Festival will end on May 23 with events such as lectures, a culture salon and book recommendation events.
Nankai University Press will cooperate with Nankai University in the future, and donate academic books. It also will hold books and painting exhibitions and book sales to make reading more convenient for students.
Vice president Zhu Guanglei, the director of Beijing Chongxue Culture Development Yu Fuwen, and over 100 representatives of students and teachers from Nankai University attended the opening ceremony.
