Meng Guanglu, also a 19th CPC National Congress delegate, is the deputy president of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the head of the Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe.

He feels that literary and art workers should not only improve Peking opera skills, but also spread Chinese culture. "I can feel the interest in Peking opera from foreigners when we perform aboard, because of our growing influence and national power. I think Peking opera should follow the steps of the new era, be inherited by modern society and attract more young people as its representatives," he said.
