China held a judicial forum to discuss a common code of conduct among legal professionals on Oct 15 in North China's Tianjin municipality.
Jiang Bixin, director of the China Behavior Law Association, said "research on a code of conduct of legal professionals is of significant value."
A suitable code answers the demands of building standard and professional legal teams, and helps to improve professionalism among those practicing in the legal sector, according to Jiang.
Building a good code of conduct also benefits the judicial environment, he added.
Forum participants talked about ways to improve the existing code of conduct and how such an improvement would help to achieve fairness and credibility.
The forum, held at Tianjin University, attracted over 130 judges, lawyers and legal experts from around the country.
