The Tianjin (Binhai) Zhongguancun Science Park was inaugurated on Nov 22. At the same ceremony, 45 Beijing enterprises committed to investing in Tianjin.
The Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing selected the Beitang enterprise zone, located in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, to be the home of a Zhongguancun Science Park branch, a result of cooperation between Beijing and Tianjin.

Guo Hong, director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, said the newly established park will follow the innovation-driven strategy and will take advantage of the consolidated cutting-edge manufacturing industry in Tianjin to attract international innovative resources and to become a cross-regional innovative and entrepreneurial pilot zone.
The newly opened science park will be operated with a "double-director" management model, which means two directors will work together to jointly manage and supervise the park.

Guo and Zhang Yong, head of the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, are to be the joint directors.
At the inauguration ceremony, Zhang said that the park will be operated through the following six departments: a committee office, an economic development department, a technological innovation department, a planning and construction department, an investment promotion section and a financial auditing section.

During the ceremony, 45 programs conducted by Beijing enterprises signed with the Tianjin Zhongguancun Science Park. The total investment was more than 35 billion yuan ($5.06 billion).
Shan Zefeng, deputy head of Binhai New Area, said the programs include mobile Internet, financial leasing, cross border e-commerce, health care, international education and enterprise incubators.
Zhang Ao, general manager of King Reach, a company focusing on intelligent health care, said health care is one of the pillar industries in Tianjin and that it has had a positive aggregation effect.

He said, "Transfer of another 200 researchers to Tianjin to better promote and develop the intelligent health business is planned."
"Tianjin’s talent resource is another reason that attracts us. The recruitment in Beijing has reached a bottleneck and talent mobility is great. However, the company can recruit more local talents here," Zhang added.
