The third China Greening Exposition was unveiled on Aug 18, 2015 in Tianjin, after two years’ construction. The expo covers 5,700 mu (380 hectares) in Wuqing District, with a pattern includes an axis, three rings and nine areas.
The expo’s entire venue is divided into south and north parts. The south part is the South Lake scenic area, with the lake covering nearly 3,000 mu (200 hectares). Encircling the South Lake is the German Town in European style, where tourists can enjoy shopping.
The south part also includes an extreme-sports playground and a tree house built on a 30-year willow. There are 48 exhibition gardens in the exposition’s north part, which are categorized into six styles in according to greening features, local customs and ecological culture characteristics. The 48 gardens present the visitors the beautiful landscape of China.
A services system integrating visiting guide, inquiry services and supporting commercial services is built by the exposition. There are six visitor services centers, 58 dining spots as well as other services facilities such as banks and toilets in the exposition venue. After two months’ operation, the third China Greening Exposition closed in Wuqing District successfully on Oct 18, 2015. A total of 1.5 million tourists visited the exposition, for its gardens of distinctive characteristics, splendid water shows, beautiful South Lake and wonderful activities.
Moreover, it became a base for greening promotion and tree planting. The greening exposition illustrated the advanced concepts, successful modes and achievements in land greening of different regions and sectors in recent years. It also showed the remarkable effect in speeding up land greening. Through exhibitions with themes such as land greening achievements and wildlife protection, it presented China’s achievements in ecological construction and land greening, and helped to promote China’s policies and regulations in land greening.
New ideas, technologies, products and achievements in forestation and greening were brought to the public through the exposition. In order to create a never-ending greening exposition, the exposition will open to the public after closure. It is expected to be a new tourist attraction in the surrounding areas.
