The 13th Congress of the International Society for Experimental Microsurgery was held at Tianjin from August 26 to 28, with experts and scholars from more than ten countries such as the US, Canada, Hungary, Italy, Sweden, Germany and China in attendance.

Experts present discussed nine issues including microsurgery, organ transplants, immunity and translational medicine and gave speeches on their latest achievements and findings.
After the congress, a microsurgery technique training course was organized from August 28 to 30 to improve microsurgery synthesis techniques.

Microsurgery is being used in several multi-disciplinary fields such as neurosurgery, general surgery, urinary surgery, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and vascular surgery. It also plays a significant role in basic scientific research affecting procedures such as organ transplants.
