The 2016 International Youth Technology Innovation Competition opened on August 16 at the Peking University Science Park of Beijing and Tianjin in Baodi, Tianjin.

The contest will be conducted in team tournament form and competitors for the final game will be selected by online and offline voting.

Judges will evaluate various aspects of the programs such as market prospects, technological innovation, business models and growth potential to select projects with higher innovation levels and more core competitiveness.

The event will both enlighten entrepreneurs and investors with new ideas on business models and management approaches and offer enterprises a platform for promoting their high-tech programs to the public.

The theme of the competition in 2014 was "energy and green protection". In 2015, the contest focused more on strategic emerging industries such as biological medicine, and set ten competition areas including Beijing, Tianjin, Seattle, Boston and Silicon Valley.

More than a hundred high-tech teams participated in the 2015 Tianjin competition, five of which have settled their businesses in the Baodi Economic Development Zone.

The 2016 competition in the Tianjin area is sponsored by the Peking University Science Park of Beijing and Tianjin, the Baodi government and the Management Committee of the Baodi Economic Development Zone.
