The city of Tianjin has announced that it has 2,604 more innovative, entrepreneurial companies after establishing an innovation and entrepreneurship area, on Sep 21, 2015, and where it has mass innovation sites for Tencent, Oracle and CITIC Guoan, and others and an entrepreneurship ecosphere taking shape.
Priority has been give to the Tencent innovation space, by integrating a traditional incubator with online resources and investment to build an efficient market-oriented service system and it now has at least 30 companies in the space with 1-billion yuan ($150 million) in financing.
The area is also looking for ways to build an offshore innovation and entrepreneurship base for people from overseas with the idea of becoming an international entrepreneurship worksite, and is actively trying to attract international research organizations and technology transfer organizations and attract international talent to set up companies in the area. The city says it is also speeding up work on the support facilities for the area and improving its public services and living facilities.
