The Mazu Cultural Park in Tianjin will open to the public in September, serving as a bridge between Tianjin and Taiwan, according to a press conference on Feb. 29.
The Eighth China (Tianjin) Mazu Tourism Culture Festival will also be held in September.
Covering a total area of 39000 square meters, the park boasts a 42.3-meter high Mazu statue, the tallest in the world. The total investment in the park added up to 80 million yuan ($ 12.2 million).
The park also has cultural sites, including the bell and drum tower, the Mazu temple and the Zen house.
Currently, most of the park has been finished and the square in front of the park will be completed by the end of April.
Floor decorations of the bell and drum tower as well as the natural landscape will be finished by the end of June.
