A high-tech company in Tianjin started bulk-production of a “super battery” on Feb. 23, according to the Bohai Morning Post.

The super battery, or high-energy nickel carbon super-capacitor battery, was produced in the Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Area.

Its producer, the Zhongke Taineng company, has built two automatic production lines and can produce 550,000 super batteries per year, enough for 800 public buses and 3, 000 cars.

Such batteries are safer than ordinary ones: they have higher power, larger current and are easier to recharge. They also have longer life spans and are more environmentally-friendly, with over 90 percent recyclable materials.

New techniques improve its life cycle and lower the costs of operation. Tested by the QC/T741 standard, the battery can be recharged more than 50,000 times.

The super battery can be used in various industries, including aerospace, railways, ships, electric power and communications.

Since trial-operations in Nov. 2015, the battery has brought total revenue of 26.62 billion yuan ($ 4.1 million) and nearly 3 million yuan ($ 460,000) of tax revenue.
