Tianjin Harbor Economic Area will hold the second China (Tianjin) international offshore engineering equipment and port machinery exposition (CIOPE), seeking to boost industry, said a senior official.
Wang Guoliang, director of the Tianjin Harbor Economic Area Administrative Committee, made the remarks on January 26, vowing to make the area an engine in Tianjin’s harbor development.
Wang said that in 2015, the GDP and the total industrial output in the area grew by 31 percent and 35 percent respectively.
Aimed at high-end manufacturing, the area focuses on intelligent equipment, including maritime equipment, robots, 3D printing and CNC machine tools.
The area has attracted 15 enterprises and eight to ten projects will start operation this year, Wang added.
Wang said that the second CIOPE is expected to be held this year, which will enjoy a bigger influence and a broader opening to the market.
“We will hold the second exposition and make it a window on Tianjin’s harbor economy with an international influence,” Wang said.
