Tianjin will build a refrigerated warehouse in Wuqing District, according to the Tianjin Daily, citing the source from the 2016 Cross-border E-commerce Development Summit on January 19th.

When completed, the warehouse will supply fresh foods and lower the cost of logistics and distribution, said the report.

The project will cost up to 500 million yuan ($ 76 million) and be jointly constructed by the Wuqing District and international e-commerce businesses.

Earlier reports show that orders for raw and fresh foods online in Tianjin are surging rapidly.

The base will store seafood, meat, diary products and fruit at different temperatures --- including an ultralow temperature room (minus 25 to 30 degrees Celsius) and a low temperature room (minus 10 degrees Celsius).

The facility will also have a low temperature logistics system and online shoppers in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region will receive their orders within 24 hours.
