Tianjin prospered during the National Day holiday. The city’s commission of commerce monitored 155 restaurants which achieved total revenue of 1.96 billion yuan ($308.7 million) during the week-long holiday, a year-to-year increase of 11.2 percent. Dining out and weddings were the major reasons for the hot catering market.
During the holiday, catering for family reunions, parties, tourism dining, and weddings increased continuously. Many restaurants and hotels were fully booked.
More than 30,000 couples got married during the holiday, which greatly drove the growth of the catering market. Among the 47 hotels monitored by the commission of commerce, more than 4,600 tables were registered per day during the holiday.
The number of visitors to time-honored brands such as Gobelieve Restaurant increased more than 40 percent. More than 70 percent of the visitors were tourists from outside the city.
