| Updated: 2015-09-02 17:48:05 | By Liu Yiyi (chinadaily.com.cn) |

Tianjin will expand the support period for college entrepreneurs, from two years before graduation to five years after. The government aims to turn them into a driving force in the city’s innovation and entrepreneurship.

According to the newly released policy on entrepreneurship, college students who participate in training and receive certificates are qualified for 500 yuan ($77.9) of training subsidies. Those who successfully establish startups within half a year after the training are qualified to receive 1,000 yuan ($155.7) of training subsidy.

In addition, the small-sum guaranteed loan will be adjusted to an entrepreneurship guaranteed loan. Entrepreneurs may apply for up to 300,000 yuan ($46,710) in loans. The maturity period is limited to two years, and applicants will receive interest subsidies.

Those who have successfully started businesses, employ more than five people, and have steady operations may receive loans up to 500,000 yuan ($77,850). College entrepreneurs who have successfully established startups will be issued with position subsidies for one year and social security subsidies for three years.

Moreover, college entrepreneurs who have business registrations and rent offices will be given 1,800 yuan ($280.3) of monthly housing subsidies for up to 24 months.
